Pain management clinic
If your pet seems slower than usual, hesitant to jump or climb stairs, or not quite themselves, pain could be the cause. Chronic pain in pets often develops gradually and can be easy to miss, as animals naturally hide discomfort. What may seem like ‘slowing down with age’ could be a manageable condition with the right care.
If you’ve noticed changes in your pet’s movement, behaviour, or mood, speak with your local vet about whether a referral to a pain specialist may help.
What to expect
Your pet’s consultation will include a thorough assessment, including:
- Physical examination
- Mobility evaluation
- Pain assessment
- Overall health review
We will also discuss your concerns and goals for your pet, creating a tailored treatment plan designed to support their lifestyle and improve their quality of life.
Additional therapies such as hydrotherapy, physiotherapy, or laser treatment may be recommended and can be arranged through our specialist team.
The pain clinic is led by Dr Messiaen, a Board-Certified Small Animal Surgery Specialist and a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Surgeons.
