VETERINARY SPECIALISTS AOTEAROA

CHRISTCHURCH

Our Christchurch veterinary hospital enables us to bring not only our specialist team, but also specialist clinical and diagnostic facilities to the South Island not previously available without travel to Auckland.

For pet owners and vets in the South Island, this means an advanced level of veterinary treatment and care is accessible, without adding the further stress of travel.

Specialist expertise in surgery

Our Christchurch team is lead by Dr Alastair Coomer, Director of VSA and Registered Specialist in Small Animal Surgery.

Our specialist surgeons provide treatment across a number of disciplines including, but not limited to:

- Orthopaedics
- Neurology
- VSA Cancer Care
- Urinary Tract Surgery and Hydraulic Sphincter Placement
- Soft Tissue Surgery

Imaging

Our team provides advanced diagnostic imaging services to ensure that an in-depth plan can be made and appropriate treatments can be recommended.

At VSA Christchurch we have in-house CT, radiographs (x-rays) and ultrasound as well as access to offsite MRI.

Having access to all of these modalities means that our clinicians are able to target diagnostic imaging to the specific needs of our patients.

Our oncology team works closely with our surgical and imaging teams to provide a multi-disciplinary cancer care service, offering advanced diagnostic and surgery solutions as well as traditional chemotherapy and electrochemotherapy.

Physiotherapy

We offer a full veterinary physiotherapy service at VSA Christchurch for patients that need extra help with mobility, recovery from injury, rehabilitation or arthritis.

Our veterinary qualified physiotherapist, Cath, is able to tailor a rehab plan for individual patient needs.

Part of something great

VSA Christchurch has a team of veterinary professionals who provide an exceptional level of care for all of our patients.

Collaboration is a big part of our VSA culture and with 3 hospitals and a growing team of specialists, we are able to share the knowledge and expertise whenever we need to.
