Dr Dearbhla Owens

Dearbhla (Derv) graduated with a Bachelor of Veterinary Medicine from University College Dublin in 2014, she also holds a GP cert in emergency medicine and surgery.

Derv wanted to move to New Zealand and experience the veterinary industry in a new country. VSA was the perfect place for her as not only is there a 24-hour emergency service but also some of the best specialists in the country to learn from.

Derv loves stabilizing critical patients and true emergencies. Being able to see these cases through and reaching a diagnosis and successful treatment plan with the help of the specialist team when needed.

Derv has been with VS A&E since 2019.
