DR YASMINE MESSIAEN

Position: Registered Specialist Small Animal Surgery 

Yasmine graduated from St. George’s University in 2015. Following her lifelong passion for surgery, she completed a rotating internship and three surgical internships in the United States and Canada, also working as a hospitalist.

Yasmine completed her small animal surgery residency and obtained her master’s degree in small animal clinical sciences in 2025. She then moved to New Zealand to join VSA’s surgical team. In 2025, she obtained her certification as a surgery specialist from the American College of Veterinary Surgeons.

Her clinical interests include wound management, maxillofacial surgery, minimally invasive procedures, and surgery of the neurologic system. She is also deeply committed to chronic pain management and helping pets live more comfortable, fulfilling lives.

Yasmine is passionate about providing compassionate care and working closely with families to find the best treatment options for each individual patient.
