Dr Mitch Imoda
Position: Surgical Resident
Mitch graduated from the University of Queensland in 2021, before completing a rotating internship at Queensland Veterinary Specialists in Brisbane, where he developed a strong interest in small animal surgery. He then moved to the United Kingdom to further his training, undertaking both a general surgical internship and an advanced orthopaedic and surgical neurology internship at Fitzpatrick Referrals in Surrey. During this time, he consolidated his interests in small animal surgery, with a particular focus on orthopaedics.
In 2025, Mitch relocated to New Zealand to commence a surgical residency at VSA, with the aim of further advancing his surgical knowledge and technical skills.
Mitch has a strong interest in orthopaedic surgery, particularly fracture fixation, wound care and joint replacement. Outside of work, he enjoys exploring New Zealand, discovering new restaurants, and never misses a chance to meet a dachshund.
