I qualified with an Advanced Apprenticeship in Veterinary Nursing UK (NZ equivalent to Diploma in Veterinary nursing) and was enlisted on the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons Nursing Register in May 2009

Since joining the VSA team in July 2017 I have held the roles of Senior Nurse, Surgery Team Leader and now I am the Head Nurse.

Before working at VSA I trained and worked in a busy small animal veterinary practice in the county of Lancashire, England for 10 years where my passion for animal care grew. I started as a student nurse and working my way up to head nurse before moving to New Zealand in 2016.

My love for animals was instilled from a young age.  I was lucky enough to grow up on a working cattle farm in the northwest of England, surrounded by small and large animals. My passion for providing animals with the best care possible has become a lifelong passion and I have wholeheartedly dedicated my professional career to doing just that.

On my arrival in New Zealand, it was clear to me that VSA were providing the most advanced Veterinary care that the country had seen and it became my goal to work here.

I am truly honored to be working alongside the team here at VSA who provide some of the highest and advanced standard of care seen within New Zealand, if not the world. Our purpose-built state of the art hospital enables us perform some of the most advanced procedures simply not available within most general practices. We all look out for each other, and all share the same passion and goals for providing exceptional care together for our beloved fur family members.

My favorite part of my job is seeing animals return home happy, healthy and free from pain. I also have a strong passion for Surgical nursing and have been lucky enough to assist in some of the most interesting and challenging surgeries seen at VSA with my favorite being neurosurgery, orthopedic and oncology. All of the work we do would not be possible without our amazing and dedicated team and so being able to work alongside them helps to make my job the dream job I had always hoped for.
