SASKIA FAKE

Position: Veterinary Physiotherapist

Email: saskia.fake@vsnz.co.nz

Saskia’s journey to becoming a Veterinary Physiotherapist was influenced as a young girl looking after farm animals growing up in rural Hawkes Bay. She worked as a Human Physiotherapist for 5 years in private practice as well as across high schools, whilst completing her post-graduate diploma in Veterinary Physiotherapy through the University of Liverpool. After working for nearly a year at VSA, Saskia committed to completing her Masters in Veterinary Physiotherapy with a thesis on ‘The Conservative Management of Canine Lumbosacral Disease’.

Saskia finds her role as a Veterinary Physiotherapist very rewarding and fun. Whilst she has a soft spot for big dogs, she loves being able to work with all shapes, sizes and entertaining personality types (dogs, cats and the odd rabbit!). Saskia particularly enjoys treating elderly animals and assisting in giving them a new lease on life so they can still participate in the things they love. She works together with the rest of the VSA rehabilitation team and loves that they play an integral role in making a positive difference to patient’s lives. When Saskia isn’t at work, you’ll find her hanging out with her pets, out getting coffee, doing yoga or watering her plants!
